New Inter Star Dalbert Claims Nice Fans Threatened to Kill Him Following Summer Switch

?Internazionale full-back Dalbert has revealed Nice fans sent him death threats after he swapped Ligue 1 for Serie A in the summer.

The Brazilian had been a top performer for the club, but decided to move on to bigger things after just one season to join the Nerazzurri. However, things haven’t gone as he’d planned so far.

He is has drifted down the pecking order behind Yuto Nagatomo and Davide Santon and has made just five Serie A appearances, which is not how he would have envisaged things after he finalised his move from the French club.

Lifting the lid to L’Equipe, as quoted by ?Calciomercato, he claimed his reception from the Nice fans was particularly hostile after his decision to switch clubs.

“I was a traitor in the fans eyes, and when they whistled me against Ajax it hurt. I’d like to go back to Nice one day, but I don’t think it will be possible,” he said.

“Before I left I had a lot of threatening messages from them, they said they wanted to break my legs and others hoped to see me dead.

They also sent messages to my wife through social media to threaten her. I felt their wrath and it hurt me, I hope it will pass. I have a lot of respect for the club and the real fans.”

Dalbert might not be playing so much at the moment, but the team as a collective are going extremely well so far – Inter are second in Serie A and are breathing down the neck of Napoli. Nice by contrast are languishing in 14th after 15 games.

Roma Legend Totti Reveals Which Football Legend He ‘Regrets’ Never Teaming Up With

?Francesco Totti has revealed which legendary footballer he will always “regret” never playing with.

The Giallorossi playmaker called time on his lengthy professional career at the end of last term as he brought the curtain down on an illustrious time with the Serie A side.

Speaking to Italian newspaper Correire della Sera (h/t ?Eurosport) about a wide variety of topics, Totti was asked with former superstar he would have loved to have played alongside, and the former Italy international needed no second invitation in revealing who that player would have been.

He said: “[My one regret was] that I was not able to play with Ronaldo (Nazario).

“It would have been a dream not only for me but also for him because I would have made him score even more. He scored fairly enough but with me playing behind him then maybe…”

Ex-Inter Milan and Real Madrid striker Ronaldo will have faced off against Totti and Roma during his five-year career with I Nerazzurri at San Siro, before doing so again when he spent 18 months with Inter’s bitter city rivals AC Milan between January 2007 and July 2008.

Totti, who amassed almost 800 appearances in all competitions for Roma, would have been the perfect foil for Ronaldo’s sharp shooting with his vision, passing range and ability to play the shadow striker role all suited to providing the former front man with plenty of ammunition.

Unfortunately we’ll never get to see such a pairing play together unless they do so for the same side in a charity game but, like Totti, we can all dream of how good it would have been.

Mauro Icardi’s Agent Confirms Pursuit of the Player by Top Clubs But Insists He’s Happy at San Siro

?The agent of Mauro Icardi has confirmed that some of Europe’s top clubs are indeed chasing her client, but claimed the striker is happy at San Siro for now.

Wanda Icardi, who also happens to be the star’s wife, has been speaking to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport at length about her husband’s ever-improving reputation as a top marksman and revealed top sides are legitimately interested in him.

She said, as quoted by ?Football Italia: “Mauro is an important player, and there are top clubs who have been following him for some time.

“It’s right that a striker like that, one of the best number 9s in the world, has big clubs who are interested in him and are considering what he’s worth. But they have to please him and Inter.

“I’d prefer not to tell you who is calling me, I talk about these things while Mauro is thinking of Inter and is happy to be here.”

Icardi has made a blistering start to the new season, scoring 15 leagues goals in just 14 games and he has seemingly placed himself in the shop window with his fine form. Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Chelsea are just some of a few teams reportedly interested.

Inter are currently rivalling Napoli at the top of the league and have a lot to be thankful to Icardi for so far. But they will be acutely aware of the player’s buy-out clause standing at just €110m, and will be keen to negotiate with Wanda to make it higher.

She is on board with that idea, and added: “He has a contract, he’s thinking of winning with Inter, he’s happy with what he’s doing and he’s aiming for the maximum.

“No one knows the future though, the last word is the club’s and there are offers which cannot be refused. How much is he worth? At least €200m.”

Inter Boss Luciano Spalletti Trolls Fans With Premature Team Selection on Instagram

?Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti is enjoying a great season thus far, with his team trailing Serie A leaders Napoli by just two points.

The Nerazzurri haven’t lost at all this season. And with title rivals Napoli and Juventus set for a Friday night clash, points will be dropped one way or the other – possibly both ways.

Cagliari Calcio v FC Internazionale - Serie A

Inter can gain an advantage when they face Chievo on Sunday, as a win could take them top of the pile if Juve beat the Partenopei this weekend.

Feeling a little humourous ahead of Sunday’s important clash, Spalletti revealed his team selection via Instagram. And it was as honest as he could get.

??“I’ve decided everything,” the post read. “Against Chievo we’ll play with 11 starters!”

Cheeky indeed. But fans would obviously enjoy it more if their side manage win.

Ex-Inter Defender Daniele Adani Urges Nerazzurri to Bid for in-Demand Mesut Ozil

Former Inter star Daniele Adani believes that his old club should try to secure Mesut Ozil, as the German player is more likely than ever to depart from Arsenal.

Luciano Spalletti’s side have been looking for reinforcements in the attacking midfield area as they continued their title race thanks to a 3-1 win against Cagliari on Saturday night.

The Nerazzurri were recently rumoured to have eyed Paris St-Germain’s unhappy Javier Pastore and Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal. Both of them, however, are still in doubt, and Inter need to hurry if they aim to find someone in January.

For these reasons, former Nerazzurro defender and Sky Sport pundit Adani has suggested that Ozil might just be the candidate they are looking for.

The German will be a free agent at the end of the season but is unlikely to remain at Arsenal as he’s demanding huge pay rises that Arsene Wenger is not eager to accept.

He’s been linked with several Premier League – among which Manchester United and Barcelona – and European clubs who would, instead, be willing to match his requests in order to secure him.

Adani told Sky Sports (via Tribal Football): “At Inter, they lack a quality southpaw, able to play between the lines. That’s why in January, I would advise the leaders to go for Mesut Ozil.

“When he was at Real Madrid, [Jose] Mourinho said of him that he was the best trequartista in the world. He is in a delicate contractual situation and remains relatively young.

“Adding someone like him to the squad could totally change Inter’s game.”??
