Chelsea Reportedly Dealt Huge Blow in Their Pursuit of Inter Milan Star

?Chelsea are keen on signing Inter Milan midfielder Antonio Candreva this summer but following comments made by the Italian’s agent, it seems Candreva will be staying with Inter Milan.

Blues boss Antonio Conte has been keeping tabs on the situation of the midfielder and admires his talent from the times they worked together during Conte’s reign with the Italy squad.

However, according to ?Goal, Candreva’s agent Federico Pastorello believes that his player will remain in Italy with Inter Milan.

Pastorello said: “Candreva believes that he will stay. His desire is to continue at Inter and the club and [Inter manager Luciano] Spalletti have said the same.”

He added: “So I believe this season he will remain at Inter, but in January Chelsea wanted him.”

Candreva attracted attention from European clubs after a more than impressive spell with Lazio – he played 101 games for the club and scored 32 goals. The midfielder joined Inter only 12 months ago and has continued his impressive form – scoring six goals and getting 10 assists for Inter Milan.

Following the sale of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, Conte has been keen to add depth to his squad for the upcoming Premier League campaign and Candreva is high on the Italian’s list of targets.

However, it seems that the 30-year-old will remain with Spalletti at Inter after he helped the side to an impressive 3-0 victory over Fiorentina in the opening Serie A game of the season.

Inter Milan Announce Loan Signing of Valencia Full-Back Joao Cancelo With Option to Buy

?Inter Milan have completed the loan signing of Valencia full-back Joao Cancelo with an option to buy the Portugal international.

Cancelo, who was previously a transfer target for Premier League champions Chelsea, played 91 matches for Valencia, scoring four goals, and is the latest player to join the Serie A giants.

A statement on ?Inter’s website reads: “Joao Pedro Cavaco Cancelo is a new Inter player. The Portuguese moves to the club on loan until 30th June 2018 with an option to make the deal permanent.

“Welcome to Milan Joao and best of luck for this new experience with the Nerazzurri!”

Cancelo joins the likes of Milan Skriniar, Borja Valero, Matias Vecino and Dalbert Henrique in swapping other European clubs for the San Siro, while Luciano Spalletti’s side have also kept star man Ivan Perisic, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

The 23-year-old previously played for Benfica, making two appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese side before moving to Spain, and also made his international debut for Portugal in 2016.

Inter Milan Prepare for Summer Clearout as Two Forwards Head for San Siro Exit

?Inter Milan are prepared to let two key strikers leave the club, as they look to overhaul their squad before the transfer window closes at the end of August. The San Siro sleeping giants are believed to be prepared to part ways with both Montenegrin powerhouse Stevan Joveti? and tenacious youngster Gabriel Barbosa, who is more commonly known as ‘Gabigol.

According to reports from Italian football expert Gianluca Di Marzio, La Liga side Sevilla are in pole position to sign Joveti?, after the player impressed during a loan spell at the Andalusian side last season. Gabigol meanwhile has a host of admirers, but Benfica or Malaga look to be the frontrunners in securing his signature, after talks with Sporting Lisbon have slowed.

Inter started the summer transfer window slowly, watching on as their stadium-sharing rivals AC Milan embarked on an astonishing transfer spending spree bringing in the likes of Italian legend Leonardo Bonucci. Inter have upped their action in recent weeks, bringing in big signings such as left-back Dalbert for £18m, defender Milan Skriniar for £20m and Matías Vecino for £21.6m.

While 18-year-old striker Facundo Colidio has joined the club from Boca, it is thought that the clearance of Joveti? and Gabigol is a move to free up funds and space for an expensive new striker to lead the line for I Nerazzurri. Mauro Icardi is the club’s first-choice striker, but a strong back-up option is needed if the club are to challenge for the title this season.

Inter opened their 2017/18 Serie A account in style, thrashing Fiorentina 3-0 at the San Siro.

Inter Boss Luciano Spalletti Admits Defender Andrea Ranocchia Will Leave Club ‘With Regret’

?Inter coach Luciano Spalletti has admitted that defender Andrea Ranocchia will leave the club “with regret” when two new centre-backs are signed.

The 29-year-old returned to the club for pre-season after a spell on loan in the Premier League with Hull City, but he is now set for a permanent exit.

Spalletti is looking to significantly strengthen his squad after Inter finished in a disappointing seventh place in last season’s Serie A.

“Normal market? We did well in preseason, the players showed they were professionals, they listened and put [their professionalism] into practice,” the Coach told Rai Sport, quoted by ?Football Italia.

“Sometimes [the market] is wrong, but it’s normal. If you tell me that Inter have €200m to spend, Spalletti would be the king, Sanchez, Vidal and Nainggolan would all come…

“Still, I have a great team and club at my disposal. Something’s missing, mainly in defence, but the directors know and are working on it. We need two centre-backs.

“After that, Ranocchia will go elsewhere with my regret. That’s his situation, even he’s an exceptional lad and a good player.

“Brozovic? He’s a player that knows how to find space in the final third and has the legs to keep going. He’s an all-rounder.”

The Italy international joined the club from Genoa in 2011 for €18.5m, but struggled to establish himself and departed on loan spells to his former club and Sampdoria.
