Inter Milan Chief Claims Man Utd Never Made Offer for Rumoured Transfer Target Ivan Perisic

?Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio says the club never received a transfer bid from Manchester United for winger Ivan Perisic.

The Red Devils were rumoured to be interested in the Croatia international throughout the summer but a deal failed to materialise, with Perisic instead playing a main role in Inter’s positive start to the season.

Despite United being heavily linked with a move away, Perisic stayed at the San Siro and Ausilio has revealed he never entertained a potential bid from Jose Mourinho’s side.

He told Premium Sport, as quoted by ?Sempre Inter“He already had a contract, we never declined any offer from Manchester United but instead we worked to convince him to stay and that our project could be as winning as the one with Manchester.

“He never felt far removed from us, and the renewal is a consequence of this. He didn’t ask for a minimum release fee clause, and so we are happy.”

Perisic was in fine form for Inter last season, scoring 11 goals and contributing a further eight assists in 36 Serie A games, and was a target for United who wanted to sign another winger during the summer.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund forward remained in Italy and already has three league strikes this season, with Inter currently top of Serie A.

The 28-year-old played in the Nerazzurri’s most recent league triumph, a 2-0 win at Crotone on Saturday, while United are joint-top of the Premier League thanks to five consecutive victories.

Bologna 1-1 Inter: Brave Bologna Stop Inter’s 100% Start to the Season at Renato Dall’Ara

Bologna became the first Serie A side to take a point off Inter Milan this campaign following Mauro Icardi’s controversial penalty cancelling out Simone Verdi’s wonder strike.

Bologna put in a sensational first-half performances and could easily have gone into the break with a lead greater than 1-0. Simone Verdi could of had a hat-trick in the opening half an hour, the former AC Milan man was kept off the scoresheet from close range by Inter Milan keeper Samir Handanovi? just before the 10 minute mark.

Verdi then had two chances in two minutes, following a well struck effort going just over the bar, the Italian forward directed the ball just past the post in the 17th minute as Bologna continued to put Inter under pressure.

However, Simone Verdi and Bologna got their reward in the 32nd minute as Rossoblu’s talisman struck an unstoppable shot from distance to give the home side a deserved lead.

With just 15 minutes remaining Nerazzurri were awarded a controversial penalty due to an accidental trip on Italy international Eder, following the Referee going to the Video Assistant Referee the Penalty was awarded to Inter.

Mauro Icardi smashed the spot-kick past a helpless Antonio Mirante to set up a tense finally at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara. Inter’s equaliser was Icardi’s 6th Serie A goal from just four matches this campaign.

Sunderland Chief Reveals That Black Cats Paid Inter £10m for Ricky Alvarez Amid Financial Concerns

?Sunderland fans have made their concerns known regarding the club’s somewhat shaded financial state, and Black Cats chief executive Martin Bain – speaking in an interview with Chronicle Live – frankly addressed the main questions pledged by the supporters, including the reality surrounding the club’s ‘obligatory’ payment to Inter Milan for Ricky Alvarez.

Receiving £45m in parachute funds following their relegation from the Premier League, the North East outfit also received £33m from Everton for young keeper Jordan Pickford, and understandably so the passionate fanatics of the club are curious to where the money has gone.

Bain claimed: “I’m a football fan and I understand that supporters look at the money they know is coming in, and the money they see going out, and wonder what happened to the difference.

“I recognise that we have sold players for a large amount of money and our spend is not commensurate with that.

“The truth is that every penny of the £33m that we received for Jordan Pickford and Vito Mannone has gone into the running of the club.

“Fans have not seen that money paid out on new players this summer, and the reason is that the money was already accounted for, primarily because of significant payments due this summer for players signed in previous seasons.

“Added to this, the club was obliged to pay £10m for Ricky Alvarez due to a deal that was done in 2014. That was the situation that the club was in.”

Sunderland fans have also questioned whether letting the likes of Jeremain Lens and Fabio Borini depart on loan this year will be conducive financially, with the fear that the club will still be paying a large proportion of the players’ wages.

But, to categorically put any lingering qualms to bed, Bain said: “The wages of all of the players who have gone on loan are being paid in full by the clubs they have joined.

“And the loan deals for Borini and Lens contain appearance clauses set at a level which will see them converted to permanent moves.”

VIDEO: Juventus-Loving Kid Gets Inter Jersey for His Birthday and Reacts Like Any Real Fan Would

?A young Juventus fan was given an Inter Milan shirt for his birthday, in a cruel but hilarious prank that has gone viral on social media.

A fan’s love for his football team is arguably at its very strongest during his early days – there are few things that capture your passion quite like a football team, especially if dad has had his way.

As tweeted out by ItalianFootballTV, football loyalty and passion were on display at their finest from a Juventus-supporting child, who was on the receiving end of a humorous yet very snidey prank.

It appears to be the youngster’s birthday in the video clip, and wrapped inside his first gift is an Inter Milan shirt, which he immediatedly screws up and tosses aside.

On the verge of tears, he is then given a second present which is revealed to be the Juventus shirt he had clearly been longing for. His joy is a far cry away from the utter disdain of just a few moments prior, which makes the clip rather heart-warming.

The kid will no doubt be wearing his new jersey with pride (when he isn’t in school, of course) – the Bianconeri have started off the new season in impressive form and sit second but level on points with leaders Napoli.

Inter Boss Luciano Spalletti Tells Striker Mauro Icardi How He Can ‘Still Improve’

?Inter coach Luciano Spalletti has claimed that Mauro Icardi can still improve ahead of Tuesday night’s Serie A clash with Bologna.

The Argentine striker has five goals in his opening four league games this season, having finished with 24 last campaign.

But Spalletti has stressed that there is still more to come from Icardi, and offered his advice on what the 24-year-old could do better.

FC Crotone v FC Internazionale - Serie A

“Icardi? He can still improve,” said the former Roma boss, quoted by ?Calciomercato. “I’ve praised him and Perisic but their keeping their feet on the ground and I am happy for that.

“It’s impossible to mark Icardi in the area, he can still do something more. Sometimes he should play closer to midfielders to help the team.”

Icardi has contributed to Inter’s impressive start to the season, with the Nerazzurri having won four successive league games, scoring ten goals and conceding just once.

And former Inter striker Hernan Crespo has expressed his belief that Icardi could soon become one of the world’s best.

FC Internazionale v Spal - Serie A

“After Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi, who are from another planet, Icardi is the striker I like the most,” he said. “At the age of 24 he is already a champion and can become truly world class.

“I’ve been tracking Icardi since he first arrived in Italy. Every year, albeit surrounded by difficulties, he has always made steps forward.

“That’s a sign that we are talking about an intelligent guy. Now he seems mature for the big step up.

” data-viewability-attr=”//″ style=””>

“Let’s not forget that since he’s been playing in Serie A, the only time he failed to reach double figures of goals was in 2013-14. He knows where the goal is.”
