Roma CEO Guido Fienga has assured that Paulo Fonseca’s job is safe, distancing the club from Max Allegri.
Allegri had reportedly made himself available for talks with new Roma chief Ryan Friedkin, but Fienga [pictured, left] made it clear the capital side were sticking with Fonseca.
“Fonseca’s future has never been an open issue for Roma,” he said at Pedro’s official unveiling earlier today.
“With him, we started a project that involves a young team, led by a quality coach.”

“Edin is our captain and will remain so. We’re happy that he’s staying. We know his quality and professionalism.
“If he takes to the field on Sunday, he’ll do his best. We hope he has some extra motivation in him.”
The Giallorossi remain without a sporting director since parting with Gianluca Petrachi and have been biding their time.

“It’s very disrespectful to talk about him and Juventus, although we hope to beat them on Sunday.”
