Lazio forward Ciro Immobile says Alessandro Florenzi’s €10m move to Paris Saint-Germain ‘is a gift’ from Roma. ‘He’ll bring quality’.
Immobile reveals his Italy teammate rushed through a lunch break during the retreat in September, after having learned about the loan offer with an option to buy from the Ligue 1 champions.
“When we were in the national team at the beginning of September, during a lunch, he had to hurry to finish because he had just received some important news,” Immobile revealed to France Football.
“It was then the decisive offer from PSG had arrived.”
Florenzi had just returned from loan at Valencia, struggling to convince Paulo Fonseca at the Giallorossi last term, but Immobile thinks he’s a ‘quality’ full-back both in defence and attack.
“He will bring quality. He’s a full-back who has a good control over both phases, defensive and attacking,” Immobile added.
“Considering the amount paid for the transfer, it’s a gift.”
