Inter Working on Deal to Sign Jiangsu Suning Midfielder Ramires Ahead of Transfer January

?Inter are working on a deal to bring Jiangsu Suning midfielder Ramires to the club in the January transfer window.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport – via ?Football Italia – Inter technical coordinator Walter Sabatini is set to travel to China on Tuesday in an attempt to conclude negotiations.

Sabatini will reportedly meet with Suning Group owner Zhang Jindong, who has control over both Inter and Jiangsu.

The Serie A club are believed to have limited funds to spend in the upcoming transfer window, but are not willing to sell players to free up their budget.

Ramires, who joined Jiangsu after six years with Chelsea in the Premier League, is currently sidelined with a knee injury.

The Chinese club have previously branded reports that the Brazilian midfielder is set to join Inter as ‘nonsense.’

But La Gazzetta claim he is close to a recovery and that Sabatini “will try to get the job done”, with a six-month loan the most likely agreement.

Ramires’ agent, Luis Carlini, revealed earlier this month that there were a number of clubs  interested in the 30-year-old.

“Three of the top 10 clubs in the world have moved in a formal way, but I can’t say more than that,” he said.

“Interest is one thing, formalising it is another. Ramires wouldn’t come cheap, he’s an important player for [Fabio] Capello.

“For a deal to get over the line there has to be agreement between all parties. There’s still a bit of time until the January transfer window, but it’s logical there are already contacts.”
