?Manchester United are believed to be edging closer to finalising a deal for Inter Milan winger Ivan Periši?, with the player’s agent rumoured to have met with Old Trafford officials on Thursday with a view to bringing the move forward.
The Red Devils have been pursuing the Croatian for a number of weeks, with Inter resolutely digging their heels in and refusing to negotiate a deal.
According to reports by Italian news outlet FCInterNews, via the Daily Express, the 28-year old’s agent Fali Ramadani discussed a possible move with the Premier League side yesterday, aiming to establish personal terms with the player ahead of a fresh transfer bid. Inter are thought to be determined to hold on to Periši?, with time to secure a replacement running out.
It now seems that Inter will attempt to coax Periši? into committing himself to the club with a lucrative contract extension, while United will try to lure the player in with a similarly dazzling contract, before offering the San Siro side a deal too good to turn down. Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has publicly expressed his desire to keep Periši? at the club despite United’s interest.
Manchester United have strengthened their squad significantly ahead of the 2017/18 Premier League season. £76m signing Romelu Lukaku is set to lead the line for José Mourinho’s side, while robust midfield Nemanja Mati? and promising centre-back Victor Lindelöf have added some well-needed bulk to what was previously a rather fragile looking starting XI.
United’s interest in Periši? is certainly warranted, given the high levels of consistency and work-rate he possesses.
The versatile attacker can play both as a winger or in a more central role, and has shown a real eye for goal in recent years. An experienced international with 16 goals in 56 appearances for Croatia, Periši? could prove an excellent signing for the Red Devils.
?After Serie A side Internazionale saw an approach of £5.4 million rejected by Caen for the services of 19-year-old Yann Karamoh, Arsenal are now set to swoop for the young French-Ivorian.
According to ?Calciomercato, the Gunners will face competition from fellow suitors Saint Etienne, as competition for the youngster’s signature heats up.
While Inter also remain interested in acquiring Karamoh’s services, the Italians have had two initial offers rebuffed and may subsequently be willing to risk waiting until next summer when his contract expires with Caen in order to bring him to San Siro on a free transfer.
Regarding the interest emanating from Inter, Caen club president Jean Fracois-Fortin said: “Inter made a fairly honest offer, considering the player had only a year left on his contract. We still have the hope of finding an agreement as soon as possible. This is the right project for him.”
While Inter’s hesitation could be a risky decision if either Arsenal or Saint Etienne were to push for a move to bring Karamoh to their club, it is believed that the France under 21 international’s preferred destination is with the Nerazzurri.
Throughout the 2016/17 campaign Karamoh was involved in nine goals for Caen, scoring five and assisting four from 35 Ligue 1 games.
The young winger shone quietly in a season whereby compatriot Kylian Mbappe stole the headlines, seeing Karamoh go somewhat under the radar.
Interest in the starlet is likely to increase as his contract with Caen approaches its conclusion, subsequently Arsenal may have to move quick if they are to pen a deal for the young winger who has already made a bright start to his career, drawing comparison between himself and the aforementioned Mbappe.
?Besiktas have confirmed the signing of former Cardiff City central midfielder Gary Medel from Inter. The Chilean arrives into the club for a reported €2.5m and signs a three year deal with the Turkish giants.
As has become a bit of a tradition for Besiktas this summer, Medel was announced with their now-typical ‘come to Besiktas’ video – involving phone calls and cartoon filters. However, the 30-year-old’s announcement received a bit of a twist.
??The video reveals new signing Jeremain Lens calling a ‘middle man’ in his attempts to bring Medel into the club. The middle man that the former Sunderland winger uses is the son of fan favourite Atiba Hutchinson, according to Squawka.
Medel becomes the fourth player this window to be unveiled via the ‘come to Besiktas’ video – joining Lens, former Real Madrid centre half Pepe and Alvaro Negredo.
??The midfielder turned centre back has enjoyed an illustrious career in all reaches of the world, featuring for the likes of Boca Juniors, Sevilla, Cardiff and Inter Milan – as well as racking up an impressive 105 international caps for Chile.
Medel joins Besiktas along with a huge wealth of other talent as the club look to continue their domination of Turkish football.
The team triumphed in the Turkish Super Lig last season, finishing four points clear of second placed Istanbul Basaksehir, and with some strong summer recruitment, the club seem to be preparing to make some long awaited ground in continental football.
Besiktas have already qualified for the group stages of this season’s Champions League, and with experienced players such as Pepe and Negredo within their ranks, they’ll be hoping to progress as far as possible.
?Ligue 1 side SM Caen have reportedly rejected Internazionale’s latest attempt to sign 19-year-old forward Yann Karamoh.
The young Ivorian performed well last term, scoring five goals in 35 league appearances for the French side.
According to ?Calciomercato.com, Caen have already rejected two offers worth €3m and €6m for the young forward, with club President Jean-Francois Fortin hoping to negotiate a new deal with the player, as Karamoh only has a year left on his current contract.
Fortin said: “Inter made a fairly honest offer, considering the player had only a year left on his contract. We still have the hope of finding an agreement as soon as possible. This is the right project for him.”
Ligue 1 side St Etienne have reportedly met Caen’s €8m asking price for Karamoh, but it is thought the player will see out the 2017/18 season at Caen before moving to Inter on a free transfer.
Caen will hope to hold on to the youngster in an attempt to finish the season in a better position than last season where the club narrowly avoided relegation. However, the French side lost their opening day fixture 1-0 against Montpellier.
Inter will be frustrated in their attempts to sign Karamoh, considering the good business concluded by rivals AC Milan and Juventus this summer.
Among other signings Inter have managed to complete a number of big money deals for Sampdoria center-back Milan Skriniar, Fiorentina midfielder Matías Vecino and OGC Nice full-back Dalbert.
A number of players have also left the Serie A club, including Éver Banega, Juan Jesus and Gianluca Caprari.
