Picking the Best Potential Inter Lineup to Face Udinese on Sunday

?Inter travel to Udinese this Sunday in a game that could be pivotal if they are to fulfil their hopes of playing Champions League football next season.

Inter are four points behind fourth placed Lazio, and a win on Sunday would keep them in contention for that crucial Champions League spot.

Udinese on the other hand are just three points above the drop zone after they ended an 11 game loss streak last weekend, with a 1-1 draw with bottom of the league Benevento.

  • Handanovic

Handanovic has been among the best goalkeepers in the world for a number of seasons and this year has been no different.

The Slovenian shot stopper ?has kept 16 clean sheets this season, the second most in the division.

  • João Cancelo

    João Cancelo7

  • Škriniar

  • Miranda

  • Santon

?Škriniar and Miranda have been the consistent partnership at the heart of the Inter backline and that is unlikely to change. Spalletti hasn’t made huge changes to either personnel or tactics this season, unless he has been forced into it.

One change the Inter boss will be forced to make is at left back. Danilo D’Ambrosio is banned for the weekend’s fixture, meaning Davide Santon could start at left-back.

Inter have consistently played two holding midfielders in front of the back line this season.

Gagliardini’s injury will mean Borja Valero should drop into the deeper role alongside Brozovic with Rafihna taking up the more advanced attacking midfield position.

Candreva was and Perisic should start either side of Rafihna. Both wingers like to play with width, which will cause problems for Udinese if they stick to a three at the back formation which they have played with in recent weeks.

  • Icardi

?Icardi should start up front. The Argentinian frontman has been Inter’s standout performer again this season, racking up 27 goals in just 31 appearances in the league.

Inter on average make more crosses than any other team in Serie A, meaning Icardi’s prowess in the air has shone through.

Eder has started just four games ahead of Icardi this season, and should not replace the star striker for this game either.
