According to Sky Sport Italia, Tiago Pinto will mediate between Edin Dzeko and Paulo Fonseca as Roma have not found any club interested in signing the striker in January.
The Roma captain was left out of the squad list to face Spezia last weekend and trained separately from the group today.
The Portuguese coach said Dzeko suffered an injury before the Spezia clash, but reports in Italy insist their relationship fell apart, so much so the future of the former Manchester City in the Eternal City striker depends on his coach.
According to Sky Sport, Roma have been looking for an escape route trying to offer Dzeko to some top European clubs.
His €7.5m-a-year salary, however, is preventing any potential suitor from signing the 34-year-old in the January transfer window.
For this reason, the club’s new General Manager Tiago Pinto will mediate between the two parties, trying to reach a compromise and get till the end of the season.
